The Lot Project - 100 Holes of Golf 2016
The LOT Project is a non-profit Christian organization with a mission to provide a platform for the body of Christ to love, pursue, and provide for the least of these, both spiritually and physically. The LOT Project, an acronym for the Least of These, represents the verse that the organization was founded on in 2009: "Truly I say to you, whatever you did for the least of these, you did unto me." (Matthew 25:40)
Providing for a person’s basic needs physically is a necessity when trying to reach their hearts spiritually. Through tangible support, a foundation is built that fosters relationships with those who come seeking a helping hand and a warm meal. Within these relationships, the second part of our mission is possible: to provide spiritually.
Andy, the current President, has worked tirelessly over the last 6 years to transform The Lot Project’s mission statement into a relationship between the Church and the unchurched. As a result, the Body of Christ gave over $105,000, 8,000 meals, 16,000 donated items, and 3,700 volunteer hours to the Hope Program in 2015!
In the last year, The LOT Project has launched a new program in addition to the Hope Program. Artisan Gardens is an urban garden project located within the alphabet streets of downtown Anderson. Just like the Hope Program, Artisan Gardens is used as a tool to build relationships and reach the hearts of people with the love of Jesus. Of course, it is also designed to grow enough produce to share abundantly with the neighborhood where it is located.
